Hensel Beauty Dish & Fujifilm GFX 100 II – Passion & Pain – A Love Story
This short picture story tells of a love for vintage steel road bikes – and the suffering that comes with it when a road curve once again turns out to be just a bit too narrow.
It is about a way of life, a sense of style, and an appreciation for “beautiful mechanical things” that can still keep up with everyday life (even if not necessarily with competition). Simply, puristically beautiful.
For the realization, we relied on the latest technology, while allowing the look to feel slightly “yesterday-ish.” All photos were shot outdoors, using a white Hensel beauty dish as the light modifier and a mix of daylight and flash. The latter provided brilliance and subtle accents to the details.
With a fully charged battery, we brought along a Fujifilm flagship camera to put it to the test. We had an amazing time outdoors in the fall shooting with the Fujifilm GFX 100 II and the GF80mm f/1.7 R lens. High dynamic range with fantastic detail, refined using the Classic Negative profile – a classic approach that perfectly matches the bike.
